The day we visited it was Communion Service. Our church practices foot washing before the actual communion service. This is in memory of Jesus washing the disciples feet that night before he was crucified.
To keep the church clean, everyone takes off their shoes or sandels before entering the church. This means the foot washing is quite important! This is only done 4 times a year or at the end of each quarter.
