Kamakura house inside

Above is the cute little kitchen with a tiny dishwasher and 3 burner range with a microwave and toaster oven.  Hard to put all her dishes plus food stuff inside such small cabinet space.

Below I am standing by the sink and taking a photo to the dining room.  On the left you can see the dresser they bought to hep hold the dishes.  The dining table and benches were purchased in California and are a snug fit.  I jokingly call it her picnic table!  But actually it is a very expensive heavy Indonsian wood.
Below the kids and DH are sitting on the sofa and reclining chair that they had shipped over from the States.  Somehow USA stuff just doesn't fit well in a Japanese house, even though much more comfortable.

Here is our family that was present for the baptism and my husband's student playing the violin.  DIL is on the piano.  Actually this was done before the baptism and the PIL shigin was done the next week in church.  But these details really don't matter!

Kamakura home

Here is my son's new home in Kamakura for the next 3 years that he will be working for the Navy in Yukosuka.
Here is a tree planted and a small space where the kids plan to put in a tiny garden

Below is our only worry.  Kind of a steep bank at the back of their house that goes up a long way.  It is help by some mesh up to the foilage, but when a typhoon hits and if the bank gave way?  But the night we stayed there there was terrible rain and nothing slid down so probably okay.

class mates

Here we are the class of '63 from Troy High.  Actually there were 18 of us graduates, 6 girls and 12 boys, but this summer only 3 of us gals met with one of the older sisters who was a class or two ahead of us.  It was kind of a quicky decision so sorry to the rest who didn't even know about it.  It was so fun to catch up on our different paths over the years since graduation.  I'm the only one waiting for my first grandchild.  We decided to try to make a a 50 year reunion--hopefully we can get a bigger group!

Hay for Japan from Idaho

Our long time neighbor in Troy, Idaho, has this huge hay field in the meadow.  I was told this hay is all going to end up in Japan.  But first it will be sent to Othello, Washington, (Or somewhere near there) where it will be compressed down into very small pellets before making its way to Japan.
Above shows the vastness of the field and below shows how it is being stacked up before being loaded on large trucks.

Quilting again

Remember before when I asked advice about my quilting for my son's spread.  Well, here it is finished and on their bed.  It was alot of work but  I did finish before having to return to Japan
After returning I finished up these other two--which will probaby be Kotastu covers.  The pink one is going to Koji and Katsura and the bottom one is still waiting for a home.  Now to go find a sheet that matches for the backing and trim.  Next project is working on my own spread which must be lavendar mix and star pattern.
